The Local Government Commission (LGC), the Institute for Local Government (ILG) and ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI) (the three statewide associations) are recruiting for an individual to fill the Statewide Local Government Energy Efficiency Best Practices Coordinator (Coordinator) position. The current Coordinator is retiring at the end of 2013.
The Coordinator position was created by the California Public Utilities Commission in Decision (D. 09–09-47) for the 2010-12 Energy Efficiency program cycle. The position is funded by the Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs), PG&E, SDG&E, Southern California Edison, and Southern California Gas Company, and is overseen jointly by the three statewide associations. Funding for the position was continued for the 2013–14 program cycle. The Coordinator’s scope of work is focused on the California Long-term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan (Strategic Plan). Application deadline is September 20th. Please note that the interview process is expected to take place in October.
About the Statewide Energy Efficiency Collaborative (SEEC)
ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability USA is a proud partner in the Statewide Energy Efficiency Collaborative (SEEC). SEEC is a new alliance to help cities and counties reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save energy. It is a collaboration between three statewide non-profit organizations and California’s four Investor Owned Utilities.

- The Institute for Local Government
- The Local Government Commission
- Pacific Gas and Electric Company
- San Diego Gas and Electric Company
- Southern California Edison Company
- Southern California Gas Company
SEEC provides education and tools for climate action planning, venues for peer-to-peer networking, technical assistance and recognition for local agencies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy use. The collaborative effort is designed to build upon the unique resources, expertise and local agency relationships of each non-profit organization, as well as those of the four investor owned utilities.
The program is funded by California utility ratepayers and administered by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, San Diego Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison, and Southern California Gas Company under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
